Happy Mother's Day

I hope all the Mothers had a very Happy Mother's Day.  Mine was very special.  My three teenage daughters cooked dinner for me.  They wouldn't let me do anything!  It was very yummy!  My hubby, Glen, took me out to eat at my favorite local restaurant the Sunday before Mother's Day.  We never go out to eat on Mother's Day because the restaurants are so crowded.

This past week Glen made a beautiful clock.  I told him I would take it for my Mother's Day gift :-)  We shall see.  It is made from native hardwoods.  He may never get another piece of wood that looks like this, definitely one of a kind.

Glen made a large rustic planter this week.

Glen has also been making bluebird houses.  Bluebirds are such beautiful birds.  This first one in my favorite.  He used the natural knothole and made it the right size/shape for the bluebirds.

He hung them from our porch for pictures.

Each one opens for cleaning.  Here he shows a sparrow trap he made.  When the sparrow flies in, it knocks the prop out.
 Then it closes.
Sparrows are so harmful to the bluebirds.  The sparrow will kill the young bluebirds and even kill the adult bluebirds.

This birdhouse hinges at the bottom.  They all open for easy cleaning.

I am sharing some better pictures of the planters Glen made.  We didn't have a good picture the last time I blogged.  They are beautiful especially with flowers in them!

I think Glen does a wonderful job with his woodworking.  He loves working with wood.

I will have more crochet next time.  Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope you will visit again.  Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
